ANIMAL RESCUE. THIS SATURDAY WE ARE TEAMING UP
WITH AREA SHELTERS A NATIONWIDE
ADOPTION EVENT TO HELP ANIMALS
FIND THEIR FOREVER HOMES. MELANIE HUNTER TAKES A LOOK AT
ONE OF THE LOCAL SHELTERS
PARTICIPATING. MELANIE: THIS IS RUSSELL. HE IS JUST ONE OF THE MANY DOGS
AT PLASTER SPCA. HERE’S HOW YOU CAN TAKE A DOG
LIKE RUSSELL HOME FOR CLEAR THE
SHELTERS. THIS SATURDAY, AUGUST 17,
LEILANI HOPES DOZENS OF ANIMALS
WILL LEAVE PLACER SPCA FOR A NEW
HOME.>>WHAT WE WANT FOR ALL THE
ANIMALS IN OUR CARE IS DEFINED
IN THAT PERFECT HOME AND THAT IS
WHY WE ARE SO EXCITED ABOUT
CLEAR THE SHELTERS. MELANIE: THE GOAL IS AT LEAST
100 ADOPTIONS. THE SHELTER WILL WAIVE ALL
ADOPTION FEES TO HELP REACH THAT
GOAL. A FIRST FOR THE SHELTER AT THEIR
NEW ADOPTION AND EDUCATION
CENTER. THIS TIME OF YEAR BRINGS AN
INFLUX OF ANIMALS, ESPECIALLY
KITTENS.>>WE CAN SEE AS MANY AS SEVEN
TO EIGHT KITTENS FROM ONE LITTER
AND CAT CAN BREED ABOUT FOUR TO
FIVE MONTHS OF AGE SO THEY CAN
HAVE MULTIPLE LITTERS. WE ARE INUNDATED WITH KITTENS. MELANIE: THAT PLUS LIFESTYLE
CHANGES MEANS A LOT OF ANIMALS
LIKE THESE GUINEA PIGS AND UP
HERE. THAT WERE FORMALLY CLASSROOM
PETS, BUNNY RABBITS THE THIRD
MOST POPULAR ANIMAL INTO MOST
ANY SHELTER. ANY TIME DURING THE SUMMER
PLASTER SPCA CAN HAVE FROM 300
UP TO 500 ANIMALS IN THEIR
FACILITIES.>>IF SOMEONE IS LOOKING FOR A
COMPANION ANIMAL TO ADOPT AND
THEY HAVE SOMETHING IN MIND, WE
WILL HELP THEM FIND THE ONE THAT

If people would just spay and neuter there pets there would not be this problem 🙁 I always say unless you are a breeder spay and neuter your pets as these animals did not ask to come into the world for this 🙂 All of our dogs are rescues 🙂 Thank you KCRA for this 🙂 An Extra "BIG" thumbs up 🙂 ROCK ON!!!!!!!
